SAMAB held its 10th Annual Fall Conference in Gatlinburg, Tennessee on November 1-3, 1999. The theme of the conference was "Community Solutions," especially as they relate to SAMAB's three primary initiatives: community sustainability, watersheds, and invasive pest plants/native species. The goal is for community stakeholders, resource managers, and researchers to discuss challenges, practical solutions, and needed actions that relate to the sustainability of the Southern Appalachian environment, its culture, and its communities.
