Patton Avenue in
downtown Asheville is one of the city’s main streets. This is what it looked like several decades
ago. Notice the building on the left
with the four small decorative stone urns on top, and the building next to it
further down the street. The building
with the urns was built in 1924 by the Piedmont Electric Company as their
office. In its later years the upper
floors were used as studio space for several artists.
